Post Army Programs | Post-Army Young Activist Communities

Many pre-army program graduates wish to continue their social activism after their army service.  HaMidrasha and HeChalutz support a number of dynamic young activist communities comprised of young men and women who are committed to establishing roots, and carrying out all aspects of their lives in Israel’s geographic and socio-economic peripheries. These communities embrace a lifestyle inspired by Jewish culture (study, celebration of Shabbat and holidays), Zionism and its pioneering spirit, and community activism from a place of equality and integration into the community. The participants proactively connect with the local residents to create and share together a vision of social engagement and improve the quality of life in the community. Currently, there are young activist communities in Haifa’s Hadar neighborhood, Tiberius, Upper Nazareth, Jerusalem, and other locations.
